Climbing Hoverla: routes

The mountain is located between Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. The most popular route starts from the Zaroslyak base. You can also rent trekking poles there. Simple equipment will greatly facilitate the ascent to Hoverla. We offer several route options that differ in level of difficulty.

Zaroslyak

It’s located near Vorokhta. The shortest routes to Hoverla start from there. Color markings: green, yellow, red, blue. You can get to Zaroslyak by taxi, own car, on foot, or order a convenient and inexpensive transfer to Hoverla in the company Transfer-Bukovel.

Green

Easy straight route for beginners. In about 2.5-3 hours 4.3 km of gentle road is overcome. You can go on a trip with a guide or yourself. The road is literally full of signs, so it’s hard to get lost. You can go hiking without special training.

Red

It starts at the point of the green route and connects at the top. The main difference – continues to the village Dembronya.

Blue

The shortest, but also the most difficult route. The road from Zaroslyak leads to the top, very steep, requires good physical training. Not suitable for the elderly, as well as children. Without agility, load resistance and weather whims, climbing Hoverla on this route is almost impossible. It stretches for 3.7 km, which you will spend approximately 2.5 – 3 hours.

Yellow

The longest, most colorful and interesting route. Suitable for those who want to try their hand. It winds through the mountain lake Nesamovyte, the mountain slopes of Breskul and Pozhizhevska. You can return to the tourist base by other routes. The length is 7.7 km. Tourists cover the road in 2 days.

From Lazeschyna

A long ascent starts from the railway station in Lazeshchyna. This route is perfect for beginners. With an easy walk tourists can reach the top. Mount Petros rises nearby, which offers a picturesque panorama.

Most of the route runs through thickets of forest, literally sprinkled with blackberries and strawberries. From the Gropa mountain meadow, which rises to 1350 m above sea level rises a panoramic view of the top of Hoverla. At the end of the route you can spend the night, refresh yourself and avoid the harsher weather in the tourist shelter “Kozmeschik”.

The 17.5 km long route is one of the most beautiful. It allows you to admire the magnificent mountain landscapes: coniferous forests, gentle and steep slopes, fabulous glades lost in the wilderness, deep gorges and flowering valleys.

Across mount Petros

Travelers will visit three “two thousanders”: Hoverla, Pip Ivan Chornohirsky and Petros. The route passes through the Chornohirsky ridge, Lake Nesamovite, high mountain lake Brebeneskul, sharp rocks Shpytsi and the stormy waterfall in Dzembronya. The path is 51 km long. It begins from Kvasy village located near Rakhiv. The ascent to Hoverla takes 4-6 days.
